13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head with sculpted green helmet having finial peak and raised emblem on spread wing eagle, brown curly hair peeking beneath the helmet, blue glass side-glancing googly eyes, dark eyeliner painted lashes, short-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with wide beaming smile, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, green khaki uniform, shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Dep Elite D. 1. Comments: Max Handwerck. c. 1916, from the German WWI googly series which included molded hat/helmet googlies from various nations. Value Points: excellent bisque and fine modeling.
