14" (36 cm.) Schoenhut. Including all-wooden doll by Schoenhut with painted hair, painted facial features, solemn expression, all-wooden spring-jointed body, marked "Schoenhut Doll Pat. Jan 17, 1911 USA"; and all-cloth handmade folk doll with hand-painted facial features including a charming smile. American, circa 1910, in well-loved and played with condition, along with their assortment of family-made costumes, some with details suggesting mother-made such as a formal gentleman's suit, and others of simple child-like quality, along with early canvas-covered box in which the costumes have been stored. The pair are a charming scene of early 1900s American country life.
