Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 6 1/2 made in Germany 7 1/2 171 (head) Comments: Kestner, circa 1911, the 171 model in this particular size was introduced in the March 15, 1911 issue of Ladies' Home Journal as Daisy, "The Doll That Has Come to Life", inspired by their popular Lettie Lane paper doll. The issue told young girls how they could obtain the doll along with patterns for all of the costumes shown: just obtain three subscriptions for the magazine and send along with $4.50. Value Points: wonderfully perfected "dolly" model with choicest bisque and complexion, lovely antique costume.
