15" (38 cm). Paper mache shoulderhead with elongated throat, black sculpted hair with three rows of elaborate curls on either side of the face and an elaborate braided arrangement atop the head, painted facial features, blue downcast eyes with black upper eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, kid body with shapely torso, wooden lower limbs, painted flat yellow shoes, lovely antique muslin gown. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: fine original finish is perfectly preserved on the early paper mache with rare coiffure.
