Description
16" x 10" (40 x 25 cm). A wooden box with decorative paper covers on inside and out has original maker's label "Fabrique Francaise CBG Paris, Paris 1889",and hinges open to elaborately fitted interior of white porcelain dinner service decorated with gold bands and decorative sprays of springtime flowers; the set comprising four dinner plates, four soup bowls, serving plate, two footed compotes, serving bowl, oval platter, two relish dishes, two glasses with beaded decoration, gilt cutlery with knife rests, six menu cards, napkins. Excellent condition, some box wear and interior dust, set never removed from arrangement. French, circa 1885. A very beautiful dinner service with fine decorations.
