22" (56 cm). Pressed bisque swivel head with elongated facial modeling and plump cheeks, almond shaped amber brown glass enamel inset eyes with darker outer rims, dark eyeliner encircles the eye cut, painted lashes, brushstroked and multi- feathered brows, mauve blushed eyeshadow, shaded nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, separately modeled pierced ears, original blonde lambswool fleeced wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight- loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, plump limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 9 EJ (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (torso). Comments: Emile Jumeau, the premiere version of his signed EJ bebe, circa 1881. Value Points: very rare and outstanding example of the first period EJ, in rarest size 9,superb bisque and painting, original body and body finish, antique whitewear costume may be original, bonnet, undergarments, signed Jumeau shoes, earrings, lambswool original wig.
