Description

20" (51 cm). Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, plump lower cheeks, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with very full outlined lips, dimpled chin and lip corners, pierced ears, auburn mohair wig, French composition and wooden fully jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, small chip in molding hole at center of solid dome (under wig). Marks: S 13 H 719 dep (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Simon and Halbig, commissioned for placement with Jumeau body and original couturier costume of Spanish boy. Value Points: rare model with wonderful expression and modeling, outstanding early costume.
