17" (43 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, pale blue glass enamel inset eyes with darker blue outer rims, dark eyeliner, lightly feathered lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale accented lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair over cork pate, kid gusset jointed fashion body with shapely torso, stitched and separated fingers, brunette mohair wig over cork pate. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 4 (head and shoulderplate) Aux Reves des Enfance,40 Rue des Richelieu, Specialite de Poupees (paper label and stamp on torso). Comments: circa 1865,the doll was presented by the luxury boutique Aux Reves des Enfance under the directorship of Georgette Fanny Boiseau. Value Points: the beauty of the doll with finest delicate bisque and painting is enhanced by her original school girl uniform of Parisian convent school, with gown, chemisette, blue walker strings, snood, undergarments, leather shoes, and her original boutique labels indicating quality production for the prestigious boutique that was described in the children's magazine Psyche in 1863.
