16" (41 cm.) All-carved wooden doll, socket head, small intaglio brown painted eyes with pronounced white eye dots, black upper eyeliner, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with downcast pouting lips, brunette mohair tacked-on wig, all-wooden spring-jointed body, holes in feet for posing. Condition: very good, some facial touch-ups. Marks: Schoenhut Doll Pat. January 17, '11 USA & Foreign Countries. Comments: Schoenhut, their model 16/403, circa 1912. Value Points: hard-to-find model with expressive features has original wig, and factory original white linen sailor suit with unusual pink collar and felt, matching cap.
