Description
22" x 25" (56 x 63 cm). A wooden framed toy theatre with richly embellished facade labeled "Opera" and decorated with embossed gilt paper designs has blue fabric curtain with gold stenciled royal designs. The curtain opens from winding handle at the side, and reveals a choice of two different scenes with matching side panels; each scene is richly engraved in designs of the 1850 era including parlor with family portraits. The theatre is preserved in its original box, the base of the box forming a floor frame for the theatre. Excellent condition. A remarkable theatre with most artfully designed scenes and facade.
