16" (40 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate portraying adult woman, brown sculpted hair waved away from face into arranged rolls, detachable cluster of curls at back of head, blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accent line, fully modeled pierced ears, German kid fashion body with gusset jointing at hips, knees and elbows, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1870. Value Points: very rare early bisque doll whose special features include one of the rarest coiffures, glass inset eyes, swivel head, modeled ears, brown color of hair.
