Description
5" overall (13 cm), 4 1/2" Kewpie (11 cm). One piece all-bisque head, torso and legs of Kewpie with loop-jointed arms and starfish-shaped hands, large black side-glancing eyes to the right, painted lashes and upper eyeliner, wide beaming smile. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Kewpie, designed by Rose O'Neill, produced in Germany, circa 1912. Value Points: impish Kewpie wears very rare original crepe-paper costume with pumpkin-shaped cap enclosing its head, curled green stem, stem bracelets on wrists and ankles.
