Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted lashes, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid bebe body with slender shape, scalloped-edge collarette, kid over metal upper arms, bisque forearms with separately sculpted fingers, hinged kid-over-metal Chevrot hips, wooden lower leg. Condition: generally excellent, despite the number variation of head and shoulderplate, the doll appears to be appropriately sized and with original assembly; this was not untypical of this Bru era. Marks: Bru Jne 6 (head) No. 4 Bru Jne (shoulderplate). Comments: Bru, circa 1886,from the family of the original owner of the Eli Lilly family. Value Points: original family doll with pretty expression, original signed with original Bru label, with early silk dress, rose silk bonnet; the body is especially sturdy and clean, with perfect bisque hands.
