Description
20" (53 cm). Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted lashes, rose blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with modeled tongue tip, shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, dimpled chin, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F. 8. G. (block letters). Comments: Gaultier, circa 1882. Value Points: very deeply defined sculpting of facial features enhanced by rich decoration and fine bisque, original body and body finish, antique red silk dress with torchon lace, elaborate red silk and lace bonnet.
