Description
20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes which operate from a metal turn knob at back of head, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, brunette human hair hand-tied wig, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau SGDG Paris 8 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, 1885, Jumeau registered his first depose in 1885 which was for sleeping eyes in which the eyelids lowered over the eyes when metal lever at the back of head was turned. Value Points: rare model with perfectly functioning eyes, original body, wig, costume, and shoes signed "Bebe Jumeau Depose 8".
