24" (61 cm). Very delicate pressed bisque socket head with plump facial modeling, almond shaped blue glass eyes in so-called "wrap-around" style with spiral threading, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecuts,painted lashes, mauve blushed eyeshadow, feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, blushed pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden early eight-loose-ball-jointed body with plump limbs and straight wrists, well costumed in antique blue velvet dress and bonnet with bronze silk trim, undergarments, brown leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 5. Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1878. Value Points: exceptionally rare early bebe in fine large size with superb sculpting, quality of bisque and painting.
