Description
15" - 16" (38 - 40 cm). Of black cotton sateen with stitch-shaped and embroidered facial features, glass inset eyes, fleecy hair under attached hats or shawls, black cotton firmly shaped body with defined body shapes, applied finger nails, separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: late 19th century, the family group includes moustached man with linen workclothes and group of wooden handled brooms, turbaned woman with colorful native costume, a basket of handwoven cottons at her feet, and a small baby being carried on mother's back. Value Points: excellent state of preservation of the well-detailed family with original costumes and accessories. On wooden base, under glass dome.
