Description
10" (25 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta head of young boy with sculpted short brown hair brushed forward in deep waves, sculpted ears, small enamel eyes, slightly smiling expression on closed mouth, tow-wrapped armature posable body, wooden lower arms and legs, painted wrinkled stockings and black shoes, original costume. The boy is posed along with a wooden peddler cart with metal spoked wheels which is filled with basket of various terra cotta miniature foodstuffs, feed baskets and a scale. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
