Description
5 1/2" - 11" (14 - 28 cm). Of carved wood with wood-segmented jointed neck, jointed limbs, carved open beaks, the ducks have painted bright yellow bodies, orange beaks and legs, painted costume, large eyes. Condition: original paint, albeit well-worn on baby Danny Doodles, good on others. Marks: Quacky Doodles,T.M. Reg. P.F. Volland & Co Pat. Dec 2,1902,Apl.14,1903,Design Pat'd Sept 7,1915 (paper label on foot of two ducks). Comments: created by Schoenhut from original designs of Gruelle in the Raggedy Ann story book, Quacky Doodles and Danny Doodles Story Book, circa 1915. Value Points: very rare characters with amusing construction, original labels, Quacky Doodles with original sunbonnet.
