Description

16"l (40 cm),16"d when opened. A wooden box with decoration paper covers opens to an elaborately shelved interior to suggest a Parisian candy store at the end of the 19th century, with original paper label "Confiserie" across the fancily crested top. Inside, still tied to their original walls or shelves are 36 boxes of bon- bons with decorative lithographs on the box lids,12 glass bottles or decanters of candies, and five silver or glass plates and footed pedestals with faux-food fancy desserts. Condition: generally excellent, some minor box spotting. Comments: French, circa 1890. Value Points: outstanding and elaborately detailed "Confiserie" with all original, unplayed with, contents, considered a luxury toy at its origin, and virtually unfindable today.
