5 1/2" x 4" (14 x 10 cm). A heavy board box with faux-wood finish, gilt stenciling and labeled "Loto", hinges open at front and top to elaborately fitted interior, comprising 12 tiny chocolate boxes, each with lithograph of uniformed soldier on the lid, along with loto cards and two little sacks of wooden loto buttons. Excellent condition. A charming and perfectly preserved candy box, designed for later use as parlor game. French, circa 1890.
