Description
About 11"h (28 cm). Five French silk candy sacks, each lavishly decorated with embroidered or painted flowers in various delicate colors, with matching fringed or corded silk borders and trim, matching braid ties, each silk lined, along with paper mache gilded shoe with sateen candy sack top. The French silk candy sacks were offered in Etrennes catalogs of Paris stores at the end of the 19th century, designed for the buyer to fill with bon-bons or to use as a lavish gift presentation bag. Near mint original condition, each is different. Circa 1885.
