21"h (53 cm). A realistically sculpted paper mache dog is seated on back haunches, as though in begging position, with front paws holding a paper mache "wicker" basket, having shaped ears, wistful painted facial features, leather collar with bells, and mounted upon original wooden wheeled platform. The dog was designed for display or for play as toss-ball figure. French, circa 1890. Excellent all-original condition.
