14"h (35 cm). A paper-mache mandolin with lithographed paper cover to simulate wood- graining and handle has silk-covered back with pull-string silk candy sack. Hidden at the bottom of the candy sack is a music box that operates when wound from hidden key hole at the side. Excellent condition. French, circa 1880,a very rare luxury musical candy box in perfectly preserved condition.
