Description

11" (28 cm). Bisque socket head with sculpted white face on one side, and sculpted ebony black face on the other, the heads revolving with a cardboard cap with metal pivot ring. The white face has blue glass eyes with painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips; the black face has brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, closed mouth with coral lips; with composition and wooden fully jointed body, antique costume, undergarments, bonnet, shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 902 dep 3 (on forehead of white face) Geschutzt (torso). Comments: bisque head by Simon and Halbig, with Carl Bergner multi-face system, circa 1892. Value Points: very rare facial models to be found on this doll, each with superb quality of bisque and painting, original body and body finish.
