Description
19"h (48 cm). Painted white wooden toilette table
with towel bars and under-shelf,removable double-
compartment handled bowl,and handled pitcher of
soft-paste porcelain with creamy background,and a
large number of delicately colored scenes
featuring children at play. The soft paste
objects are signed "Sarrequemines" indicating the
Eastern France manufactory notable for
tiles,accessories and household objects made of
richly finished and superbly decorated soft-
paste. The toilette is unusual for having the
actual table-top made of decorated
softpaste,rather than of wood. Excellent
condition. France,circa 1890.
