Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, widely feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig in long original braids over cork pate,all wooden body with shapely torso, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, swivel wrists, and extra-swivel joints at upper arms and upper legs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 4 (head and shoulderplate) Medaille d'Or 1878 (stamp on kid collarette). Comments: Jumeau, circa 1878,during the 1878 Exposition in Paris, the Jumeau firm won gold medals for both their bebes and their poupees. Value Points: superbly preserved condition of the deluxe-bodied poupee with extra joints, unusual body stamp, original wig and pate, and having original white batiste gown with undergarments, leather shoes with rosettes.
