18" (46 cm). Pressed bisque socket head, brown glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, separately modeled pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 8 (head) Maison Bail (remnants of original Paris doll shop label on torso). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1880,the bebe was presented by the prestige store of Maison Bail. Value Points: beautiful creamy-bisque is complemented by dramatic brown eyes and soft rose blushing of cheeks, eyelids, earlobes, original body and body finish, antique costume.
