16"l (40 cm). A wooden platform with four metal spoked wheels hides a simple undercarriage mechanism, and supports an amusing vignette: a bisque headed boy in play jockey costume is riding a dappled toy horse on a wooden pedestal; the horse is attached to a larger wooden two- wheeled cart in which is standing another bisque head doll wearing jester costume. When the cart is pulled along, a series of actions occur simultaneously: the wheels turn, the jester turns head side to side and waves the horse whip in his hand, the rocking horse bucks up and down. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Zinner and Sohne, circa 1890. Value Points: all original condition of the wonderfully amusing toy with various actions all performing well, original costumes and finish throughout.
