Description
10" (25 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth modeled as though open, outlined lips, blonde fleeced hair over plaster pate, bisque torso and loop-jointed arms and legs in curved limb baby shape, well modeled body dimples. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Made in Germany JDK 211 (head) (Kestner crown and streamer label on torso). Comments: Kestner, circa 1915, the all-bisque variation of composition-bodied 211 model (see lot #138). Value Points: rare all-bisque variation with wonderful detail of modeling.
