Description
26" (66 cm.) h. 24"l. The firm-bodied horse with brown hide cover has separate head which rests on metal frame inside the neck and which is designed to nod up and down when activated, with brown glass sleep eyes, black horsehair mane and tail, and having elaborate and original leather harness and saddle. The horse has key-wind mechanism which is designed to cause the horse to nod head and simultaneously wag his tail. Condition: structurally excellent, head and tail move when manually tapped, but key-wind mechanism needs adjustment. Comments: late 1800s. Value Points: very fine quality of workmanship, and rare detail of harness and saddle, amusing accompanying tail action.
