Description

Each is tin lithographed building comprising typical homes and shops in a small American village of early 20th century. Each has richly detailed architectural features, with cut-out windows on two to four sides allowing the candy to be seen on the inside. Each building has its original glass liner and is held in place by original grasshopper-shaped metal holder (except 3 with replaced holders). The glass base of each is impressed "West Bros. Co. Grapeville, Pa. Net Wt. 1 1/4 oz Serial No. 2862." Included are English Cottage, Tudor House, Bungalow, Two-Story House, Drug Store, City Garage, Church, Bank, Confectionery, Engine Co. #23,Schoolhouse,Five and Dime Store, and Theatre. The village was presented in the 1914 wholesale catalog of Butler Bros.
