Description

Made of delicate heavy papers, silk and velvet in a variety of shapes and designs with very intricate construction, the group comprises Japanese lantern shaped box; sewing necessaire with silk lining and antique scenic photograph, inscribed Bon Voyage; two velvet slippers with silk lining forming a silk candy sack; cushion with alternating bands of embossed metallic papers and green silk; velvet heeled shoe; and triangular shaped lantern with cutwork and silk lining. Very good to excellent condition. Rare early candy containers in imaginative luxury designs. French, circa 1870.
