Description
10" (25 cm.) seated. 13" standing. Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead, grey sculpted hair drawn into tightly-coiled bun at back of head, enamel eyes, drawn cheeks, closed mouth, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted white stockings and black work shoes, wearing original folklore costume, and posed seated in spindled wooden chair with rush seat, holding a rare wooden spinning implement. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
