Description
7 1/2" (19 cm). Heavy cast iron toy depicts Columbus staunchly holding a flag as he arrives at American shore, standing in a cradle-shaped ship with four oarsmen, fantasy figurehead, and elaborate back frame enclosing a bell. The ship has three spoked iron wheels and is embossed on the sides "Landing of Columbus"; when pulled along the bell rings. Gong Bell, American, circa 1892
