20"w x 12"h (51 x 30 cm). A wooden framed stage with flared sides is richly covered with lithographed papers to simulate the interior walls of a Victorian era room, having lavish curtained windows, furniture and wall hangings, and on the floor a design of a tapestry rug. Inside the room there are eight all-bisque dolls representing children playing with their toys on a Christmas morning: girls with dolls, carriages and cradles, boys with dogs, puppets, drums and a rocking horse. There is a tabletop feather tree in the room center decorated with tiny balls and three tiny bisque dolls in original knit factory costumes. When hand wound at the front all of the dolls actively "play" with their toys. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Zinner and Sohne, Germany, circa 1890. Value Points: wonderful preservation of the fabulous luxury toy comprising a large number of dolls and different activities, each with original costumes.
