Description

14" (35 cm). Bisque socket head with flattened solid dome, grey glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with well-defined space between the outlined lips, very plump cheeks and chin, pierced ears, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully jointed body with straight wrists, factory original costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 7. Comments: Sonneberg, circa 1885,maker unknown, the doll was made to emulate the circle/dot French bebe of Bru and to capture that market. Value Points: very pretty little closed mouth doll with distinctive sculpting, choice bisque, original body and costume.
