Description
7"h assembled (18 cm). A lithographed paper clown with articulated legs is balanced upon a two part gilt metal frame, and is designed to dance when spun in top-like fashion. The toy is preserved in its original box with illustration on the lid showing the toy in action, labeled "Toupie a Pantins" and "Science EC Plaisir, Depose Paris". Excellent condition except one arm reglued, one foot missing. Circa 1885,a rare early toy in original box.
