Description
13"l (33 cm). Arranged upon a woven silk carpet are seven members of the Donovan family; comprising father, mother and older daughter seated on upholstered and tasseled sofa; young brother and sister standing at either side of the sofa, young girls standing in front and on the sofa, one holding a doll. The family members are all paper dolls with delicately engraved and hand-tinted hair and facial features, and attached black velvet cloth matching dresses with real lace and ribbon trim. Very good condition except man's head is missing. Presented on wooden base with blown glass dome, the underside of dome is pencil lettered "Mr. Donovan". Circa 1870.
