Description

15" (38 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with pale accented lips in smiling expression, pierced ears, all wooden-fully articulated body from Bru patent design with ball-swivel waist, shapely derriere, dowel- jointing at shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles, separately carved fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose (forehead) E (head and shoulder plate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1870. Value Points: very fine model of the deposed smiling poupee with French registration patents on both the head and body, choice bisque, fine original body finish.
