Description
3" doll (7 cm),6" overall (15 cm). A carved wooden doll stands with hands on hips, one leg extended backward, one foot on tip-toe. Two metal rods with balancing weights extend from her skirt and allow her to balance on the wooden pedestal base on which she can be posed. The toy was patented by Guiard in 1860; see The French Encyclopedia, page 262. A rare documented simple toy in excellent condition.
