Pressed bisque socket head with long-faced modeling, slender face with very plump cheeks lending a soulful expression, dark blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eyeshadow, brush stroked and multi-feathered brows with shaded detailing, shaded nostrils of refined pointy nose, closed mouth with modeled space between the shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, elongated blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose- ball-jointed body, straight wrists, flat-cut derriere, antique dress with lavish lace trim, undergarments, leather shoes, socks. Condition: generally excellent, body finish original albeit a bit scuffed. Marks: 6 (raised). Comments: attributed to Schmitt et Fils, which produced a Bebe Triste nearly identical that of Jumeau, circa 1882. Value Points: very beautiful and rare bebe with outstanding quality of modeling and painting of features, original body.
