Description
20" (51 cm). Poured wax shoulder head with pale complexion, rounded facial modeling, blue enamel eyes, feathered brows, delicate blonde tendrils of hair, muslin stitch-jointed body, wax arms to above the elbows, wax lower legs and bare feet. Condition: generally excellent except repair to right shoulder, slight fading of facial features. Marks: 164 Oxford Street, Morrell, Burlington Arcade (body stamp). Comments: the London doll boutique specialized in wax dolls, circa 1875. Value Points: exquisite original baby costume with intricate handwork on the early wax baby.
