18" (46 cm). Pressed bisque swivel head with elongated portrait like face, scalloped-cut pate rim to accommodate the deposed system of wig attachment, pronounced nose with wide bridge and aristocratic shape, high cheek bones, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brush stroked and multi-feathered brows, rose blushed eyeshadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, kid-over-wooden fully articulated body with jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, bisque lower arms and hands, well costumed in peach and sand silk gown, undergarments, leather boots, jewelry. Condition: generally excellent, two fingers restored on left hand. Marks: 4 Bte SGDG (head) 4 FG (shoulder plate). Comments: Leverd & Cie, circa 1869; Leverd's wig system was deposed in May 1869. Value Points: extremely rare poupee retains her original brunette mohair wig as presented by the maker to illustrate his patent concept; the rarity of the model is rivaled only by her beauty.
