20" (51 cm). Bisque socket head portraying aged woman, large brown glass sleep eyes, painted lower lashes, slightly modeled brush stroked brows with feathered detail, accented nostrils of strongly shaped nose, closed mouth with hint of smile, accented pale lips, pierced ears, brunette human hair, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique folklore costume with embroidered roses on vest and apron. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1303 S&H 8 1/2 Germany. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1910. Value Points: very rare model with superb modeling and bisque, highly defined cheek bones and gentle impression of age lines at eye and mouth corners, original body and body finish, costume may be original.
