Description
10" (25 cm). Paper mache shoulder head with unusual brown painted hair arranged in braided coronet and surmounted by human hair curls and tiny silk flowers, painted facial features, slender kid body, wooden arms and legs, painted red flat shoes. Condition: very good, typical paint rubs. Comments: Germany, circa 1833. Value Points: superbly preserved hair decorations, original costume included tulle gown, and pantalets with ink script notation "from Sophia Pease 10 mar1833".
