Description
12" (30 cm). All-wooden doll with one-piece head and torso, shoulder plate defined by carved outline, cleavage and painted finish, oval face, elongated throat, black sculpted hair with ringlet curls around the face and decorative comb at the back of head, painted turquoise eyes, ingle stroke brows, closed mouth with center accent line, dowel jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted lower arms and legs, green painted shoes. Condition: very good, original finish, paint flaked on limbs, cheek rub. Marks: N 4 (script on back). Comments: Germany, circa 1830. Value Points: rare to find as all-wooden doll with unusual detail of upper torso, original costume included.
