Two Early 19th Century All-Wooden Miniature Dolls

2" and 5" (5 and 13 cm). Each has one piece carved wooden head and torso, the larger with carved detail of hair waved to back of head and held by a black carved bow with cascading ribbons, the smaller with carved tuck comb, each with painted-over-gesso complexion and facial features, fully articulated body with painted shoes, delicate antique costumes may be original. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: probably Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: rare painted hair ribbons on larger doll.
