19" (48 cm). Pressed bisque swivel head with flat- cut neck socket attached to bisque shoulder plate by metal pin at cork pate, allowing the head to swivel only side-to-side in realistic human manner, blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, incised eyeliner, arched feathered brows, aquiline slender nose with accented nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid body with plump torso in typical Rohmer fashion, unusual paper mache arms from above the elbows, gusseted kid hips, wooden ball knee joints with kid cover, kid lower legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Leontine Rohmer, circa 1867,a rare portrait style model by that firm. Value Points: the rarity of the body style and neck attachment is rivaled by the exquisite beauty of unusual portrait face, the composition arms and hands are identically shaped as porcelain arms appearing on Rohmer dolls (see #169 this catalog),superb antique costume.
