16" (40 cm). A bisque-headed woman with swivel head on bisque shoulder plate has deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes, dark eyeliner, feathered brows, closed mouth, mohair wig, carton torso, metal cone-shaped skirt that contains mechanism that is attached by rod from torso with a bisque-headed man with painted hair and facial features. When wound, the couple twirl and waltz around. Condition: generally excellent, re-dressed, the gentleman's head is of a later era. Comments: attributed to Vichy & Fils, circa 1875. Value Points: elegant automaton with pleasing movements.
